Hail in Garland County

Hot Springs got a hard lesson on June 14, 2023, when hail up to softball size, four inches across, pounded the south side of the city and the communities around Lake Hamilton, Royal, Pearcy and Crystal Springs. The National Weather Service logged four inch hail at Royal and near Crystal Springs and three inch hail near Lake Hamilton. Roofs, windshields and siding were wrecked across the west and southwest parts of the county.

Hail that size does not leave any doubt. Smaller hail, the one to two inch stuff that comes through most springs, is sneakier. It bruises shingles and dents gutters without making a mess, and the damage shows up as leaks a year or two later. If your roof has not been inspected since a hailstorm, call us.
