Every job at Rumble Roofing starts with a free inspection, and a lot of inspections end with us telling the homeowner their roof is fine. That is on purpose. When You Should Get Your Roof Inspected

After a storm. Hail, straight-line wind, or a tornado in the area. Damage is not always visible from the ground, and the Arkansas Insurance Department recommends having a trusted roofing contractor inspect the roof after a storm before you decide about a claim.

Before you buy a house. The general home inspector looks at the roof from a ladder or a drone. We walk it. A roof with two years of life left changes what you should pay for the house.

Before you sell. Knowing about a problem before the buyer's inspector finds it puts you in control of the fix and the timeline.

When you see a stain. A water spot on the ceiling means water has been getting in for a while. Find out where before it gets worse.

When the roof is getting old. If you are not sure how old your roof is, or it is past fifteen years, a free inspection tells you what to plan for.

When a storm chaser knocked on your door. Before you sign with anyone who showed up unannounced, get a second opinion from a company with a Little Rock address.

What We Check

We walk the roof when it is safe to do so. We check every slope for hail bruising, wind-creased or missing shingles, granule loss, cracking and curling. We look at the flashing around chimneys, walls, skylights and valleys, since that is where most leaks start. We check pipe boots for cracks, vents for damage, and ridge caps for wear. We look at the gutters, downspouts and other soft metals for hail dents, and we check the decking from the roof for soft spots. Where we can, we look in the attic for water stains, daylight and ventilation problems.

Everything gets photographed. You get the photos and a plain explanation of what they show, whether that is "your roof looks great, call us in a few years" or "this needs attention now."

What Happens After the Inspection

If the roof is fine, we tell you so and leave. No follow-up sales calls.

If it needs a repair, you get a written estimate with a clear scope. Our roof repair page covers what those jobs look like.

Why Inspections Matter More in Arkansas

Our weather is hard on roofs. Spring hail and wind, months of summer heat and humidity, and winter ice storms mean an Arkansas roof ages faster than the same roof would in a gentler climate. Big events add to that. On June 14, 2023, hail up to four inches across hit the south side of Hot Springs and the Lake Hamilton area. On March 31, 2023, an EF3 tornado tracked 34 miles across the Little Rock metro. Plenty of homes on the edge of those storms were never inspected, and some of them are leaking today.

A free inspection every couple of years, and after any major storm, is the cheapest roof maintenance there is.

How long does an inspection take?
Usually thirty minutes to an hour depending on the size of the roof and whether we can get into the attic.

Do I need to be home?
It helps, so we can show you what we found and check the attic, but it is not required for the exterior inspection.

Will you pressure me to file an insurance claim?
No. We tell you what we found. Whether to open a claim is your decision, and we will tell you honestly if the damage is not worth filing over.
